I got stung by my ex-girlfriend last night, having inadvertantly sent me a text intended for someone else. ie, her new boyfriend.
I always thought friends told each other things. That's what we were. Friends. Didn't matter that we weren't going out anymore. We always got on really well.
It seems that all she's ever done is lie to me. Held things back. Some things get said eventually but always afterwards, when it doesn't really matter anymore. When she ended our relationship she gave reasons which now cannot be trusted or believed. The events of her going away with him now have to be judged in a totally new light. At the time I was the only one who trusted her because I loved her. He was a friend, he had been a friend for several years. Why should I have doubted her?
Yet again I've been played for a fool.

So, Sir Bobby Robson gets the sack. Well done Newcastle. Much like Southampton, the chairman has taken matters into his hands to try and solve a problem that lies with himself. Freddie Shepherd bought and sold players without Sir Bobby's input and then expects him to deal with the consequences. 4 games into the season, not a good start, but he's out.
Does this mean that other managers who don't have the same sort of the start are due for the axe? Is Rafael Benitez's job safe? Afterall, Liverpool have 4 points, the same as Newcastle. Man Utd aren't fairing much better. Is Sir Alex Fergie's job safe? Who's next?
Football in this country has become a joke. We expect to much from it. We demand entertainment. What we get is football. A transfer matters more than a game. Rumour is rife just to cover tv time, radio airspace and newspaper columns. Today we get a story that Sir Clive Woodward wants to manage a football team!!! Who, where and how do these stories start?
What's next? Player wages continue to spiral. Managers get sacked every other week. Sky makes more and more money from poor saps who do nothing but pay their subscriptions.
The bubble will burst. It's coming. One day it will become so fundamentally fucked up that no one will care anymore.

Had a strange night. Felt OK up till around 9pm then everything just fell away. My whole body started feeling so weird. Decided to go to bed and fell asleep instantly.
Woke up every hour or so with a splitting, pain in the head, right above my left eye, sharp, constant pain.
Somehow get the feeling that something I ate yesterday seriously disagreed with me. Probably the pasta sauce I had.
Today started slowly as a result. Had the intention of masses of photo scanning and generally tidying up since this place is getting into a bit of a mess. Instead I just wallowed around, did nothing and didn't get dressed until around 12.30.

Went to see Bourne Supremacy earlier. Good film. Wonder if Paul Greengrass used to play Carmageddon. Driving while pushing another vehicle into something solid was always a fun thing to do. Some interesting camera work and editing going on in the film. Much better than the first one, which suffered heavily from trying to truncate a decent story into a couple of hours.
Been wavering around having a headache for a while. Been in bed for a bit, not done much else. Looks like Paula Radcliffe managed to totally destroy herself again. Quite why she's had as much media coverage recently seems to have totally wiped off any success other Britains have had. How typically bloody British. Concentrate on the losers and subject the winners to the next page.
Leon's on telly soon. Have to watch that since I sold my DVD of it. All part of the plan to get rid of it before the new 10th anniversary dvd is released, whenever that may be.
Anyone else wanting to buy some crap from me should go to Amazon and hunt me down!!

Up at 6.30am this morning. The small matter of the coxless 4 in the rowing was centre of attention. I've not taken much interest in the Olympics as it's a somewhat overly large and over hyped event. Sometimes though certain people and events do take over. Having watched odds and ends of swimming today's rowing was the only other event that piqued my interest. Cleaned all the dog poo off the garden afterwards and the apples, which as usual were covered in wasps. They're all now in the compost heap!!
