Note to professional footballers

Friday, 22 October 2004

Since Mr Beckham has managed to successfully and fully admit to the most heinous of crimes and admitting getting booked was deliberate the FA have now said there will be no punishment due to a lack of evidence all professional footballers are welcome to behave as they want on the field of play as no punishment will be handed out.

And for those who like a laugh and prefer alternative versions of "football" - Saints in urinating player probe

Weird Dreams

Friday, 15 October 2004

Damn! Last post just went belly up on me. Can't now be arsed to write it all out again so I'll just summerise.

Dreamt about ex-girlfriend last night. She appeared twice. 2 of her in one dream which was a bit scary. Doubled up, identical twins! Quite where my brain takes me sometimes is becoming a bit worrying. Have to stop having these dreams.

Won a book in a competition - The End of Elsewhere: Travels Among the Tourists. Fascinating tale of traversing the world in a variety of ways.

Found 31 Songs, the Nick Hornby book which I'd forgotten I'd bought!! Saving that now for the USA flight next month.

All now showered and shaved. Might go and see Shark Tale this arvo. Not sure yet, have to see how I feel.

Quite what the Scots expect when they have no players of any quality is beyond me. Too easy to blame the manager but then that's the issue when you have a foreign coach. Would a Scot do any better? England suffer the same problems but they usually only emerge after being knocked out of a tournament. They have no trouble getting there, just not quite good enough to win one. Expectations though are always too high. England have some decent players but only a couple that could be considered "world class".

The Welsh, however, are coming back down to earth. It's amazing how one win against the Italians has somewhow given them some kind of false hope. Certainly to their credit they've added a sense of determination but, like the Scots, have no real players of quality.
