Heathrow’s Terminal 5 has become one of the world’s largest construction sites. With just over a year till completion everything is beginning to take shape. It’s the size that really shows what Terminal 5 will be capable of, 260 hectares which would be enough for around 50 soccer pitches and the ability to cater for around 30 million passengers a year. 18km of conveyor belt should be enough to loose plenty of baggage as well.

Some still remember that bad night at Wembley Stadium. A quickly taken free kick by the German Dietmar Hamann caught England off guard, the Germans won the match 1-0 and Kevin Keegan promptly handed in his resignation. It was a dark day for English football and the end of one of the world’s most famous football stadiums. Wembley was scheduled for rebuilding. The best part of seven years later, where Sven Goran Eriksson has come and gone, where England have failed to succeed in two World Cup tournaments while taking a tour of England’s other football stadia, where 6 FA Cup Finals have been played in Wales, where something like £800m have been spent and the new Wembley Stadium has been finished.

We have all done it. Made fundamental mistakes when travelling by air for that exotic holiday somewhere in a far off land. Your mind is on the destination and not the journey. Air travel can be hot, tiring, stressful but only when you make mistakes in preparing.
Of course, it is possible to take the stress out of air travel. Just remember some simple guidelines before travelling.

The chill of distant eyes. Another night of insomnia. Another night with no sleep. Things haven't been this bad for a couple of years. Memories. Old friends long gone. My brain won't shut down. Everything is churning around. I gave up a couple of hours ago, read Scar Tissue for a while and listening to some peaceful music.
