There's still a lot of nothing going on right now. I'm working on a few other sites and improving my knowledge of CSS. I've also been playing around in Photoshop, creating and altering a few photos from the last year or so. I was in St Kilda yesterday afternoon for a stroll about the place. Just for the novelty of it I'm going to spend a week there in one of the hostels. It would be crime to spend this amount of time over here and not stay where virtually every other Melbourne backpackers stays. That then adds in the easy possibility of the Neighbours night. Neighbours also hit it's 20th Anniversary show last night. A few old faces have returned to Ramsey St and a few others were on a doco saying how wonderful living in Ramsey St was. All very cheesy and funny.

These are the things I ponder over while travelling into downtown Melbourne some mornings. Public transport here is fantastic. Sure, the locals complain about it to the newspapers. Trains here, like trains all over the world, have a habit of breaking down. Trams do too from time to time. Accidents occur that prevent smooth running of the system but Melbourne has what can only be described as one of the world's best systems. A network of trams, trains and buses that are frequent and mostly reliable covering much of the city and it's suburbs. We had a bit of a smoke last night and took the piss out of Eddie McGuire while watching '...Millionare'. Just how much could a contestant wind him up about how badly the 'pies are doing this season? Spent the rest of the night writing a load of mad crap before reading a few old MSN Messenger logs from last year. Not sure how they ended up on my notebook but it made for a fun hour. Added a few more photos into the Melbourne Photo Page.

Now selling on eBay - The Neighbours 20th Anniversary DVD. Loads of wonderful highlights from the first 20 years of Neighbours, that great bastion of Aussie soap and the funniest programme on TV. This week has a few old faces coming back as well. Although Paul Robinson's leg isn't making a come back. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=6418261540

Friday night and another visit to the Telstradome. Previous footy games have been good affairs. It's a family game and the number of women and children at the footy is much greater than you'd expect to see in England. As a result there are requests for a lack of swearing and verbal abuse from fans. Previously that's been the case at games I've been to. Not last night though. St Kilda were playing Collingwood, a team that people either love or hate. Their owner, Eddie McGuire, is one of the most hated men in Australia. He's rich, hosts the Aussie 'Who Wants To Be A Millionaire' and commentates on TV for Channel 9 - more often than not being very biased. Collingwood supporters are also all bogans. Swearing and abuse levels rose dramatically. Collingwood are having a monumentally bad season and this was an easy game for St Kilda. They won 21.17 (143) 10.10 (70). As a lot of people tend to leave during the final quarter we now have a new catchphrase for them. "See you, thanks for coming and enjoy your weekend".

It all started so well too. Having watched most of the first 2 sessions of the Ashes first test, SBS very nicely having the Channel 4 feed from England, I went to bed. Radio on and joy of joys! The TMS feed from the BBC! Wonderful. I fell asleep somewhere between the innings, happy in the knowledge that the Aussies had been bowled out for 190. The news this morning was not good. I would have hoped to enjoy today, being in Australia. Now I have to hide. Ahh well, footy tonight, Saints v Pies at Slippery Stadium.
