Flagstaff Hill Maritime Museum

Warrnambool looks dull. The drive in along the Princes Highway is filled with cheap looking hotels and motels. Once inside the town and closer to the sea things improve dramatically. Flagstaff Hill Maritime Village is the highlight of the town. Warrnambool is a former whaling town and the village shows some of the life from the 19th Century as well as covering some of the more famous shipwrecks from the Victoria coastline, including the Loch Ard - Just look at the peacock and figure out how it survived with nothing more than a broken beak.
