Cairns

And so to Cairns and what would be almost the end of my exploration of Australia. Cairns looked quiet, peaceful, relaxing. Little to do and not much more to see. I enjoyed it though. It became the sort of place I'd want to spend some more time in some day. Cairns is a tourist Mecca these days, mostly for access to the Great Barrier Reef but also for those who want to experience the rainforests. Cairns has had major reconstruction work over the years, now with a very fancy Esplanade, man-made lagoon and grassy parkland.
