I think part of me needs to get away somewhere. I'm blaming it on the dreams I've had recently! Aright, it's only been two dreams this week but I do feel like I want to go some place I've never been before, or revisit somewhere interesting. One dream managed to amalgamate Australia into a handy bite size chunk. Starting in Adelaide, hopping on a Melbourne tram which ran alongside the river in Brisbane before arriving at the Sydney Harbour Bridge, which was much smaller than the real version for some reason. I also went to see the Wallace and Gromit movie, the Curse Of The Were-Rabbit. I do like a nice bit of W&G. It may be a movie that borrows from other movies, as so many animated movies seem to do these days, but was, never-the-less, very funny. Right from the start and the photo of Gromit graduating from Dogwarts. I went, as I always do these days, to the Odeon in York. One cinema that seems to have survived everything that's gone on around it. Having been going there for over 20 years and it hasn't changed one little bit in all that time. The decor remains as it always has. That was the cinema I always went to as a child. I've no idea how many movies I've seen there, thinking back there were numerous trips for various Star Wars movies (seeing Episodes IV,V and VI in one day) as well as whatever else my parents thought I might like. Back in the good old days when we got a cartoon before the main feature and everyone applauded when the movie finally started, something that did happen for the Revenge Of The Sith in Sydney earlier this year. I did start going to the multiplex when it opened in York back in the early 90s but at some point realised that it was never as good as the Odeon. Going back there for the first time in years was fun, discovering it hasn't changed at all. Comment on this article
