It's been a sparse few days. Apart from doing some odds and ends of writing, generally being online, reading and writing emails and looking at photography competitions I haven't done much.

The rain here comes and goes. Rain though is never to be complained about in Australia. It's vital to the continuation of the country. Natural water supplies are limited. It shows after dry summers. Restrictions of all types come into force. The sensible take brief showers, use bath water for plants and generally don't waste water. While I was in Sydney their water supplies fell below the 40% level. This caused a minor panic.

A bomb scare on Monday meant a bus ride from station to station. After London the Melbourne police weren't going to mess around when a bag was left at a station. Although it ended well for several hours trains weren't running and buses were used, with passengers packed in like sardines and what is usually a 5 minute ride turned into a 30 minute haul.

Liverpool's season and defence of their European Cup title begins tonught. Should be fun!
