My feet ache. Having gone into the CBD for breakfast this morning (noting again that Australians are very adapt at making scrambled eggs) I headed off across the river. The intention was to walk along Southbank, which I did. Slowly and a little methodically, taking a vast amount of photos along the way, stopping every now and again to enjoy the views and generally have a peaceful wander. Fish and chips were in order for lunch. It's the benefit of some of these places that you can eat a half decent little meal for a few dollars (Crown in Melbourne is like that as well). Had a stop at the man-made beach to watch the birds for a while then continued down and back across the river walking over Memorial Bridge. Botanical Gardens was the next wander, though Brisbane's don't seem quite as good as Melbourne's or Sydney's. Back up into town and a stop at the Transit Centre to arrange a bus to Airlie Beach next week. June seems to be going very quickly. I'm booked to do a Whitsundays sailing trip next Thursday, I hadn't quite realised that the 23rd was next week till yesterday. Subsequently I'll be leaving Brisbane on Tuesday on a 17 hour bus ride straight up the coast. Observant readers will notice I'm skipping past Fraser Island. After waking up this morning with some dodgy back pain I'll be doing nothing for the rest of today. I need a rest. For the past few days I've walked all over Brisbane. At least the bits that seem worth walking around. Comment on this article
