It happened in Sydney and now it's happening in Byron. I have an urge to stay a bit longer here. Only a few days. It's a long weekend in Australia so the weekend is likely to be busy and if the weather stays as good as it today then there should be a lot of fun. I'm currently in a mildy pissed off mood though. I knew my camera had some manual mode that allowed changing of certain settings. What I didn't realise till today was just how much I could alter aperture, shutter speed and exposure compensation. That means I could have taken some better photos at night time, especially when in Sydney and Melbourne, two cities which have great night lighting going on. Arse! Managed to walk out to the lighthouse yesterday, despite the constant sun and heat. Stopped off at a look out at the east end of the main beach. I might have seen a whale, I'm not sure! The water managed to go very white at one point out to see but then the wind and waves were picking up a bit so it may have been rocks causing the swell. Walked back along the beach which was somewhat tiring. The great thing about walking on sand is the feeling you get once back on solid ground. That almost floating feeling since the effort required to walk has suddenly vastly diminished. The rain came back last night. It's dampened things a little at the hostel. Few people have the urge to go out and last night a great contingent sat down for Channel 10's Tuesday night TV viewing (Simpsons, Neighbours, Big Brother, Simpsons, Simpsons, The OC, Rove Live). The place itself is also cleaner than it was at the weekend, which is a good thing. Comment on this article
