Saturday night and I'm not going out. Makes a change. I seem to have gone off alcohol at the moment. I don't feel like drinking right now. This is nothing new though. My habits have a, well, habit of being varied in their approach. Sometimes I'll go out, drink too much, have a great time. Other times, like now, I just don't feel like it. My libido has the same issues. I can go from being on a sexual high to not caring at all about women or sex. The third, my desire to work, is on a high at the moment. I've spent far too much time on the internet these past couple of days. I've done a lot, which is good. Everything's being pushed at the moment. I know I'm going to leave Sydney in a week or so. I want several things done before I leave. It now seems that Malcolm Glazer has won his financial battle to own Manchester United. The 'Not For Sale' brigade (who, incidentally bought their own little stake in the club but now feel it's not for sale) have lost. The future looks uncertain for all concerned. As a football fan I'm interested to see where it all leads to. A club which considers itself as a global commodity was always going to run the risk of takeover. This was always the risk of becoming a plc. There's money to be made and that's exactly what the major shareholders have done. The 'fans' may be outraged but what else did they expect? Another Roman Abramovich? They talk of ripping up season tickets, never buying anything MUFC related again. These, though, are the fair-weather fans. Old Trafford won't be empty next season. In truth they don't know what to expect or what's going to happen. Man Utd have also declined considerably in the last 2 years on the pitch. Sometimes change is good. Comment on this article
