After a day yesterday of feeling angry and frustrated at the world today's been better and I even wrote a poem out of yesterday. Not that I'd share it with the world. I was in O'Malley's again last night being pushed and buffeted around as usual listening to a really crap duo on guitars doing their ANZAC set with a dire upbeat version of the Dylan classic Knockin' On Heaven's Door. Popped back to the NSW Art Gallery this morning to buy a Brett Whiteley book and have a quick look round a few more bits I missed last time then headed off to the Sydney Tower, stopping at Starbucks along the way. The initial part of the Sydney Tower trip involved some rather cheesy video telling a small fraction of the story of Australia and had a motion sickness inducing "ride", which was rather tedious and dull. Once up the Tower itself the views were, as expected, pretty good except for one small point - there's too many tall buildings in Sydney. Subsequently the Opera House was hidden, the Harbour Bridge was mostly obscured as was Darling Harbour. Not worth the $22 spent there and the views aren't a patch on Melbourne's Rialto Towers.
