The last 2 days have been a slight blur of madness. Having met Vivian Hopkirk last week I was invited to stay with him in Bronte.

Thursday proved to be an interesting night, the 2 of us talking till the small hours of the morning, interceded with 2 movies - Black Hawk Down and Mine Forever. It was during the night sometime that the man is also the nephew of Brett Whiteley, the much loved and revered artisit.

Friday morning never really existed. Such is the way sometimes. Vivian's desires to return to live in Europe saw him head off into Sydney with the need for a new passport while I headed back up the coast to Bondi.

Bondi is one of those famous beaches. Now I've never seen the mass attraction of sitting in the sun in an attempt to obtain cancer. I ought to since I have other ways of increading my risks but lying around doing nothing isn't me. I do, however, enjoy the walks. Passing the time wandering along sea shores and stopping for the odd drink, photograph or pause for reflection (water tends to bring out the best in me).

Friday night and the same again, with an added 20-year old Dutch kid. Tonight's movie choices - The Gingerbread Man and The Caveman's Valentine.

Now I love Sam Jackson. The man is total cool personified. You can forgive him for being some absolutely awful movies (not that he was ever awful in them). Caveman's Valentine was an absolute masterpiece of brilliance by him.

This morning I headed back to Kings Cross, my current home. Work beckons. Money is needed. It's a shame I can't find a way to have a steady income - not much, just enough to live, move around and enjoy what life brings. I need a sponsor!

* - Today's title comes from Vivian Hopkirk's novel - Meditations of a Flawed Groom. An interesting book concerning one man's time in a Sydney jail cell, the thoughts he has and the people he meets during his 3 day stay.
