Yesterday's trip to the Lord Of The Rings exhibition proved to be of value. Very interesting to see the costumes, props and bits of video at close hand. Also saw the ring itself, suspended as it was in a tube. Not as good as the Star Wars exhibition but still very good.

The walk around there passed the Powerhouse museum's monorail station and so afterwards decided that it was obligatory to have a ride for 15 minutes or so, the time taken to do a complete circuit. Started a 2nd lap and got off in the city centre.

Rain seemed to be yesterday's major factor in not doing too much but it was worth it to stand in a very long line to meet Joe Satriani who was doing a signing session at a guitar shop. Sadly though time would not allow me (and a few other people besides) to get in so the back few metres of the queue were told there was no point waiting. Shame really.

I'm disapointed as well with Sydney's metro system. I miss the cool voice of a rather cool guy telling which side the doors will be opening at the next station. It does leave you wondering though if open mike sessions could be held for people to express themselves in a brief door opening speech. ........

'The doors are opening on the left, ya cool cats."
"Yo, doors openin' left, check it out!"
"Relax man, watch for the doors opening on the right."

Or other such similar phrases. Maybe then the warning could be extended.......

"Doors closing, watch your toes."
"Careful with those doors closin' man, theys gonna hurt if you caught in them."
