All things Irish

St Patrick's Day, St Paddy's Day. Call it what you will just leave me the hell out of it. I'm not Irish, I'm not in Ireland. Shit, I'm a few thousand miles away.

Why then do I have to be forced into a drinking binge to celebrate the life of a man who has absolutely no bearing on my life?

The man himself wasn't even Irish!!!

The major downside to this is the fact that everyone now pretends to be Irish, Americans who couldn't even find Ireland on a map drink Guinness and dress in green. Australians seem to have this xenophobe attitude at times, the whole "true blue Aussie" thing, yet they too seem to discover their Irish roots.

Leave the day to the Irish, let them do as they please. They're a good bunch of people.

Just leave me the fuck out of it.
