Awake at 4.30am. Much needed sleep now missing. Coffee the only way to start the day. However, it would be a crime to not visit this part of the world and not see a sunrise or two, so after breakfast (my usual) it was off to watch the sun come up, again mixing views of Ayer's Rock and the Olgas. This time with the sun just a bit to the right of Ayer's Rock.

Next up - a walk in the Olgas, following the Valley Of The Winds. There's a lot to be said for starting walks as early as possible. It's cooler. Temperatures here are bad enough by 10am and a lot of walks are closed due to the heat (usually anything above 36). This was also a difficult walk, one which I gave up on after a not getting very far and subsequently had a relaxing morning waiting for everyone else to get back.

Lunch was at the Cultural Centre, after a walk around the aforementioned centre and time for a spot of shopping in the resort shopping area. Bought some razor blades (FINALLY!) at half the price they were in Adelaide and a copy of The Age for all the Wizard Cup news.

The swimming pool beckoned for the rest of the day. Cool water. Nicely shaded too so little need to worry about sunburn. Relaxing. Restful. All good things come to an end though and following a shower I was as hot and sweaty as before as we set off for another sunset viewing. Not as impressive this time due to a spot of cloud. Complaints were heard eminating from some nearby Americans. Attempts were made at the "group photo". Not sure if any actually came out.

Early night again. Another 4.30am start tomorrow.
