No idea what time I woke this morning. Not that it really matters either. Had a breakfast of coffee and cigarettes washed down with a Berocca. Showered and gathered for a walk. Choice of 2 walks, the hard one or the easy one. Naturally I went for the easy one and so set off. At the easy/hard junction everyone else turned left leaving me with a clear track and a 3km walk to the Hills Homestead. Managed to get some good photos of a few budgies which were looking for a morning feed and a kangaroo. The path eventually became more difficult before coming out on a small clearing with a house. The Hills family had been wheat farmers before drought had forced them into the cattle business. Eventually though even that proved too difficult for them. The walk back was somewhat long and hot and a salad based lunch felt somewhat light. Leaving Wilmena Pound we had a couple of stops for lookout photos and a rest stop in Blinman on the way to Angorichna Tourist Village, our home for the night. Joined, as we were, by another Wayward Bus tour and a feast of sausages, kangaroo, koala and trimmings while discussing the wonders of pig sperm smuggling and the position of the southern cross.
