Great Ocean Road Day 1

PDF Print E-mail
Saturday, 15 January 2005

So after Friday's cricket and a quiet Saturday I headed off down the Great
Ocean Road on Sunday. Took ages to get out of Melbourne since all the lights
down Sydney Road were red as I got to them. The drive to Geelong wasn't
so bad though, although I got caught in the wrong lane and ended up in Geelong,
not bypassing it.

Got back on the right road and drove down to the first stop at Bells Beach
for a few photos. I kept stopping everywhere that looked worth photographing
until getting to Lorne late in the afternoon. The hostel that had small
cabins so shared that with a couple of girls from Scotland. Had barramundi
and chips for tea. Loads of cocateaus and parrots about and a possum gave
us a visit after it got dark (with the aid of some breakfast cereal and
a banana).
