Decided, with some persuading from Claire to quit smoking. Felt like hell at the airport though despite chewing on nicotine tobacco for a while.

Flight from Leeds/Bradford to Amsterdam (nothing exciting), then a train into the city. Looks pretty good. We found the hotel quite easily once getting our bearings, it was only a few minutes walk away though and spent the evening wandering around the place.

Had a beer in a bar, walked the streets and talked about what we were going to do for the next 2 days. The whole place is so relaxed, comes alive at night though mostly tourists and a few locals out for the evening. Dinner was eaten in a floating Chinese restaurant next to the hotel on the river Amstel.

Claire also let me smoke. I felt terrible though.
